Z3BigDaddy
These do not have the tabs at the end. They do fit the 30-06 but I know some foriegn clips do take 06 also... http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p178/z3bigdaddy/Thompson%20Stuff/WII01192013a.jpg
tinman13kup
Look like 1917 Enfield clips.
jim c 351
Z3,They sure look like 03 clips.I have both kinds, with tabs and without tabs.If I may take a guess, without looking anything up, I would say the tab clips are for combat and the no tab clips for Rifle range practice. That way they could be refiled out of 20 rd boxes and reused. If tabbed clips were used on the range the tabs would soon break anyway.Of course the '03 and '17 clips were identical and interchangeable.Jim C
Z3BigDaddy
So I guess I'll sell em as 03 Sprinfield/1917 Enfield stripper clips?
tinman13kup
No, it means you need to buy an '03 or '17 so you can use them. And women say guys are impulsive and without reason..
RoscoeTurner
According to Brophy those in the photo are the sixth variation of the 03 clip. The final and seventh variation is the all steel type.
jim c 351
Z3,Not that its really important but these clips were also used to fill BAR magazines.Required an adapter , similar to the M16 mag filler.I'll bet Roscoe has a BAR stripper clip adapter. Maybe he will post a picture.Jim C

RoscoeTurner
The riveted version is the early type, the later version is spot welded in the same area as the rivets.

OCM
So these could have been used by B&C? I think my ebaY price just went up... These were used by B&C, came from the evidence file on them, out of Shreveport as I remember. Barrow had an armory stuff in the backseat when killed. These were from the military of course. The picture just next to the items, shows Henderson Jorden, one of the guys at the ambush, with all the guns and ammo they were traveling with when killed. For fun, I loaded up the Barrow magazine and shot 20 out of my BAR. Pretty uneventful, but cool just the same. OCM
