Manufactured by Auto Ordnance Corp Bridgeport, Connecticut, is this World War II era fully automatic Thompson M1A1 machine gun in .45 ACP. Gun shows in nice used condition. The lower frame group is correctly marked and the original serial number stamped on the trigger guard bow indicating the receiver and trigger housing serial numbers do nto match. Does not include a magazine. This gun is currently on a Form 4 and is fully transferable. Viewing of this gun must be scheduled, as it will not be onsite at our facility. Please be advised all buyers will be required to pay for the gun immediately after the auction, but transfer for Class III weapons can take well over a year, especially if needing to transfer to a Form 4 and less time if the buyer can receive on a Form 3. We do have a local Class III dealer who will handle the transfer if the buyer is needing assistance with the transfer.

I'll defer to my much more knowledgeable forum members, but something just don't seem right about this. Yes the gun appears to have seen better days, but still $15K? If real, it could be restored for just a few $ and brought back to life.

I would drive there and want to see papers and the gun before they would get a dime. That is the scary part of buying from a non dealer stranger. You could still get burned even if the gun is legit but the seller isnt. A years wait is a long time for things to happen until you can pick it up Edited by Roland the Thompsongunner

Does look fishy. Two sellers are (if legit locations) about 4 1/2 hours apart from each other. If it is a legal deal, I'd give $15k for it, but want to verify the paperwork and the firearm first before sending ANY money.

If I was the buyer I Would take a trip to seller and check gun and paper work, If all that checked I would pay for the gun and take all parts other than receiver.

I then would arrange transfer to my dealer. Then go home and wait but you have most of the parts except receiver and barrel.

Titusville, Pa and Silver Spring, PA are pretty far apart about 250 miles. How is it the gun is in 2 places that far apart? Interesting.

In the words of Firesign Theater:

"How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?"

That would explain it perfectly.
