Grasshopper
Hi, Curious. I don't see many of these subguns. Does the gun look refinished or is that pretty much what they look like from the factory? TIA, Grasshopper
huggytree
Typically they are blotchy. Mine is a bit. I think it looks original but its very clean(other than - big scratch). The stock is most likely refinished(its just too clean). I have 3 original finish stocks.the color and sheen of this gun match 2 of them. The front grip looks sanded down in the finger grooves. But the wood is home made in a guys garage so each one is cut differently. I think its a very nice example Mine was $6300. I think its a fun shooter for that price. At $9000 it starts to loose some appeal. Ive got a video shooting mine. Pm me if youd like a copy Edited October 14, 2020 by huggytree
Frank Iannamico
I had #147 loved the progressive trigger! Cool under rated gun.Lots of info on the M6 in the MAC MAN book. Does the bolt looked pitted? If so I wonder what the bore looks like
TSMGguy
Police guns can really run the gamut from used and abused to pristine. The Buffalo Police Department purchased an Ithaca Model 37 in 1976 that was was recently sold off, and I bought it. It's like new, except that it has its rack number in yellow paint on the butt stock. The gun's issue card came with the purchase. It was issued just once, in 1982. johnsonlmg41
There are several nice examples in the registry, however since many were in PD's and not used or seen as having much value the care taking fell off dramatically. I think the GB auction gun has a replacement or refinished stock IMO. Still a nice looking gun. Still WTB a cleaning rod to complete this rig if anyone knows of one for sale?Or a Military gun for sale to complement this one?
huggytree
$9250! Highest sell price Ive ever seen on one. Only 2 bidders battling. At that price Id consider selling mine. Its a fun gun for $6000-7000 At $9250 theres much nicer guns to own
dalbert
It looks all original to me, not refinished. It's about the same as mine, which is #147 that Frank mentioned earlier. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
tollytime
Prices on everything have gone way up in just 3 years. I think the M6 has been undervalued for a very long time. There are plenty of Gordon Ingram fans out there. How many transferable Ingram M6 machine guns are there? Was this M6 on Gunbroker just as nice as the M6 guns depicted in "The Mac Man" book? Maybe we'll find out later. I guess I'm asking, how long do you wait for the right one to come around? I have been shopping for a few transferable guns and it's not so easy to get exactly what you want at the "average price" range. Maybe the M6 has moved up to the next notch and is no longer a "reasonably affordable" machine gun. I just got into the gun hobby less than a year ago and some guns have more appeal to me than others. My good friend has a MAC 10 chambered in .45 and it is in mint condition. Before I was into guns, he invited me to go shooting with him at a local range. He pulled a little black box out of a bag and told me it was a machine gun. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen! He started in semi-auto and then switched to full auto. This thing lit up like a Roman Candle. People in the range ran to our station to see where that sweet noise was coming from. I knew right away I had to have one. I asked him how much did he pay for it and how do I get one. This particular Mac 10 was around $5000 3 years ago and his was never fired. They are running $7500 and up now. The ATF wait time is a year or longer. You may want to buy a suppressor for it as well. I love the Ingram M6! It was designed by Gordon and looks awesome!! This gun has all the beauty of a classic Chris Craft runabout. $9250? Well, at least somebody got the gun they were looking for.
