MP40 Code Rarity Question

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am brand new to the boards. I have been on subguns for almost 20 years or so. I have an MP40 coded 122 40. I read Frank Iannamicos book on the MP40 and he does mention fxo marked guns both a 39 and 40 coded gun but he does not mention a 122 40 coded gun. So how hard to find are these? I also talked with the guy from the mp40.nl website and he told me they are very rare. A scan of his serial database shows 6 out of 600 guns with this number. Does anyone have experience handling one of these codes? My gun is 100% matching (end cap, trigger guard, stock, mag well, barrel resting bar, barrel, front site, barell nut, receiver tube, rear site, bolt and firing pin). The finish is maybe 80-85%. It also has the slab sided mag well, claw style cocking handle and the square hook front site. The serial number on this gun is 24xx a. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, I did talk to Alex Cruiming but I figured he is in Holland and we are in America so maybe there are more here than over there. Plus there are far more collectors here in America than in Holland. I think he told me there are like 20 or 30 collectors in Holland TOTAL. That is way scary. He explained the process and it sounded horrific.
