Sorry 'bout the repeat, but I got no replies probably due to the multiple topic title.

 

I'd really like your assembled knowledge on how best to polish feed ramps. I've had limited success using a broken ceramic sharpening stick as an abrasive "eraser" on my West Hurley 1911 to smooth out the obvious machining tool marks. Kindly include things like specific compounds, tools & such.

I polished using a Dremel Tool with a flexible extension. Starting with various grits drums, then pumice that Dremel has with their kits.

I did have one luxury that most don't, I had the Barrel off at the time and had access from both ends. The Ramp is now shiny and Smooth, before that it had a slight raised line on the Ramp and rough texture.
