Orion
Hello all,I'm looking at Colt #1753 as a possible purchase the gun has been discussed here on the forum and I'd like to get the good and the bad of this gun. I'd like as much information from the guys that have colts or who are more knowledgeable on Colt's than myself. I'd Appreciate all the information and comments on this Colt, thanks in advance for your help. You can post your comment here or PM me. Thanks, Andy
Sandman1957
I wanted to purchase that Colt myself, but for personal reasons (college) have had to sell part of my collection instead of adding to it. Other than the electro pencil marking I thought the gun looked very nice. I do not think there is an issue with the Colt 1921A actuator, as that itself adds value. You do not have the original 1928 bolt, but that is a wash with the other bolt and actuator, if they are Colt. Regardless for the price I would buy it. I wanted to, but could not at this time and I did not want to drag out the deal. It would have been unfair to the seller. The case looks original and I cannot believe it has not sold. Good luck. Orion
Sandman1957,Thanks for your input, I have the wife's okay now I'm working on the financial end of it to see what I can work out. Even with the etched numbers this Colt is in nice condition and would make a nice addition to the collection. Andy
OCM
I agree with Sandman, with all the goodies with it be a nice start- Stay on the lookout for a rare 28 actuator and all, you can always sell the 21 stuff.Wood looks newer or redone, not sure about commenting on that, but looks nice. If price is right, go for it. OCM
Sandman1957
I think it is a great package, and I would have bought it six months ago if I could have.

Sandman1957
That may explain whey there was so little chatter on it. Thought you already had a deal in progress with the seller. Regrets, hope another forum member got it. It was a great gun with alot of extras.
