Hi, I was perusing GB and came across this MP40 'display gun:' http://www.gunbroker.../Item/695955364 It looks/sounds like your standard parts kit EXCEPT 1) it comes with the original Form 6 importation document with the IRS, 2) it's been welded to not fire. Isn't this proof this mp40 was registered and can be legally transferred and reactivated? In order to transfer it, would you have to track down the legal heirs? Or could the original receiver have been destroyed and this is a fake receiver on parts? Just curious what you guys think... maybe I'm missing something obvious here? I'm also waiting to hear back from the seller for more information. -cmp9401

I think this same gun sold not long ago with a cut receiver. The shop listed it, pulled it down tried to find heurs, relisted it and sold it. Without heirs it's another lost machine gun soul.

What the heck?  It looks like a DEWAT to me.  And with import papers.  Could this possible be transferable with the proper lawyer?

Who on is gonna sign off on the transfer? Unless the guy on the paperwork or the executor of his will or some other lineage of his relatives are available to sign off the transfer it's a parts kit.
