What is the correct length cleaning rod for the holder in the lid of the standard FBI case?

Seriously, there've been several threads on rod length and slot configuration in the past.

 

The long rod is about 20.25 inches (I think Gordon H. sells repros of these), there's another longish rod at about 16.5 inches (last I knew these could be had from IMA for $5 plus HIS), and there's a slightly shorter rod length too, if I recall. Appears as if there are a number of variations.

 

Others can chime in with better info or direct you to the threads which included pictures, comparisons, and the like.

Yes, it would appear that I need the 20-21" rod for the top to my FBI case. I'm aware of the repros, but thought I had found an original on ebay. It was original, but not the correct length.

 

Story of my life, always needed a longer rod.
