bfryar44
The weapons collection above belongs to Johan Willaert who is an active duty Belgian NCO. He is an avid WW2 US militaria collector and a really great guy! Going to spend a few days with him this June in Normandy and Belgium. Seems the gun laws in Belgium are much more sane than in other European countries. A private collector can own full auto weapons with a simple "collectors" license. Here are some pictures of another Belgian collection. The owner is a good friend of mine that I visited in 1999 in Belgium. All weapons are active. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/bfryar44/MDstuff002.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/bfryar44/MDstuff001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/bfryar44/MDstuff.jpg

Zamm
OY! Man o Man... Perhaps I'm going to spend some more time there!! bfryar44, Where abouts are your friends in Belgium? I work over there about once a year in Antwerp. Great place, best memory was shooting my friend's 10/22 with the "Legal" silencer, so as not to disturb the people next door!! Lot's of Naval Lugars, PPK's P-38's, like a german pistol dump! Best, Zamm

Johan Willaert
Hi all, As Bryan says, I've been collecting WW2 US Army militaria for over 25 years. About 12 years ago I obtained a License that qualified me as a Registered Fire-Arms Collector. As far as shooting goes; it's become harder and harder to find ranges which allow for long distance and full auto firing of these guns... I rarely shoot these guns... I'm a professional Army NCO with nearly 25 years of service.... I've spent a considerable amount of time at the ranges.... For a small sample of my collection, feel free to check out my site at: http://users.pandora.be/theliberator Enjoy, Johan

Johan Willaert
QUOTE (Motorcar @ Mar 30 2006, 11:36 AM) Do live full auto Thompson items command the same prices in your country as they do here? Actually no.... Registered TSMG can be bought here for about 750-1000USdollars, provided the buyer has a license too... De-activated TSMG sell for about 750-800USdollars... M1928 is generally more expensive than M1(A1) models... JOhan
