Assault-weapons Ban Sunset And Thompsons

Recommended Posts

Word around here a while back was that Kahr'll produce new L-drums if/when the ban sunsets. Anybody have any thoughts about the odds on 1927A-5 "assault pistols" going back into production too? And maybe C-drums?

I haven't heard anything you guys haven't, I only ask from curiosity. (And hope... I really don't like the thought of paying triple Blue Book just because of the combo of Thompson greed plus 1927A-5 legality for concealed carry here in Washington. I know I'd have to contact PK as a first step to get the thing running...)

Later, everybody.

This possible ban lift brings up many questions, that don't pertain soley to new manufacture Can a post ban weapon such as an M1A now have a flash hider with bayonet lug added? Can a folding stock now be added to a post ban AK? The list of questions will be long.

Politics being what they are - I think we will see the ban sunset, then after the first of the year a new ban that will not sunset. It will be placed into a bill the Republians want and after a great deal of dealing pass.

I would hope this will not happen - but after spending many year lobbying I think we can see the issue not dying.

I have written to several U.S. Senators and received the response that they don't support a ban - but then I think back on the many other issues in which they advised they didn't support and turned in a heart beat. - It gets down to "what's in it for them"

This is probably an old question, so you can give me an old answer. Upon lifting of the ban, can we then purchase LEO drums and mags?

Ron,

Sadly enough, I have to agree with you. I for one am tired of being legally tied to the table, forced to swallow sh*t I don't want to eat, and having to worry about being bent over the Constitutional table and being 'deflowered" by a bunch of a**holes I voted for!!!

To quote the old Twisted Sister tune...

We're not gonna take it

No we ain't gonna take it

We're not gonna take it anymore!!!!

John

Tommyfan, I agree with you. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Don't forget that probably the best way to, "avoid taking it," is watch what happens this fall and in the following years, and then vote accordingly. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif We must vote to replace those 'public servants' who do not carry out our will, "the will of the people," as well as those who do not uphold the Constitution and its Bill of Rights. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Regards, Walter

Well not actually knowing whether Kahr will produce any L or C drums after the ban or kowing whehter the 10 rd drums can be converted fairily easily I went ahead and bought a WH L drum for $700 just to have one for my 28. Another thing I am seriously looking at is the Ceiner 22 kit for the Thompson. Its not cheap at $500 and mags running another $99 each- Question is does it work real well. All his other kits worked fine for me but I read once the full auto 22 Thompson was a bit of a dog.

I figure leo drums (can't believe any LE actually use them) will be in the $250-300 range after the ban at most-heck the 10's run almost $200 now don't they?

Walter,

AMEN to that!

I just hope that if enough people stay informed and stay active, common sense will win over stupidity, and we can all enjoy brand new 50 and 100 round drums, etc. Maybe invite your congressman to your local gun club as a guest to see what really goes on?
