The_Ugly
Hi everyone!I owns this non-firing blank gun. It's marked like regular WW2 A.O. 1928A1, but some details from Colt's 1928 navy. Even grip's geometry like from earlier 1928 navy.Which year of this Tommy and how it rare? PS - sorry about my english, I from Russia

gijive
The_Ugly, The grip frame appears to be a standard Auto-Ordnance-made frame (Full Auto on one line) with early Savage-made fire and safety selectors. The grip does appear to have the contours more like a Colt era grip, however. The only other grips that come close to the contour of the Colt grips are the very early Savage grips and the Dettenborn (Contract mark D) made grips. I would remove the grip and see if it has a Contractor mark (S or D) on top near the screw hole. If it doesn't you may have a Colt grip on it. Adg105200
It definitely looks like a Colt grip, especially if there is no markings present. Here is a earlier post with pictures for reference.http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20813&hl=%2Bearly+%2Bsavage+%2Bgrip&do=findComment&comment=180252 Andrew
