Woody
I just picked up a NOS Breech oiler. I have a Auto Ord. 1928 My question is do these things work? Should I use it or not? And which way does it go in? Thanks for your help.
PK.
Welcome Woody. Yes they work and you should use it. One of the most important functions that it provides it to lubricate the working ‘ears’ on the lock. The hole for the pilot is offset so it will only function one way, if you look at the hole placement in the receiver and the breech oiler, you should be able to tell. Also, there is a longer metal arm that is crimped on the felt- this longer arm goes towards the top of the receiver. HTH
hawksnest
Woody: Better to use to much oil (if that is possible) and Reduce metal wear.
