Sig
Claimed to be 95%. thanks for looking michael
SecondAmend
If I had a 95% C/T 21/8 and it was had all the original parts, I'd sell for no less than $27,500 based on what I see floating around. And that would be a "must sell to buy medicine for the sick baby" price. I'd be inclined to ask at least $35,000 and see what happens. Your potential seller may have a different view. I guess that puts me in the same group with Freedom Arms, Checkpoint Charlie, and Armament Services, eh? Of course I'm paying $1.93 per gallon for the same gas I bought for $1.43 per gallon a few months ago too. Prices on a lot of stuff have gone ballistic. Good luck! colt21a
ten pounds of steel and a pound of wood,$25,000.00 to $35,000.00...WOW!!i would still rather have that weight in gold .i think that works out to around $64,000.00 plus today.wink!!! anybody can ask whatever they want.the secret is getting somebody else to think the same way.and cut you that check........ there has been a bad sickness over the past five year's........everybody now i guess has it......... pretty soon no more guns left to buy!!! oh!until the current owners get sick, have family tragedy, change of life.or something out of the ordinary happen to them...............then the safes open.....[bUY ME RICH PEOPLE PLEASE!!] i have found out one thing in life.......you can live with one thompson...........and a wife or girlfriend...... or without any of it............wink!! and the beat go's on........take care, ron
SecondAmend
Yeah, Ron, there's only so many Thompsons in the U.S. that are transferrable and there's only so much oil under the topsoil. The price of both just keeps goin' up, up, up. It's not the price of the gun, it's not the gun, it's the gun you get for the price. A few weeks back there was a thread on a '28 that was totally rust pitted on every exterior surface. Asking price was $14,000 if I recall (I stand corrected if I'm remembering wrong). Relative to that, asking $35,000 for a 95% 21/8 doesn't seem so outrageous.
colt21a
its sad when we have to pay hard earned money for junk, and then when something nice comes along.its a years wages............or more.mag -58 and saw's at $70,000 plus............... yes the gun culture does need to be examined............seventy freakin thousand for one gun???? or $15,000 for rust.......and offer something like that back to the guy,and he won't pay you $10,000.00 for it all b.s. and it gets deeper every month............ i refuse to fuel the fire, whatever i get and have sold is always fair.........and i guess i am right, never had a problem selling any of it.......... now i don't even bother to look.{unless its a old customer or friend} i refuse to play the hype.............and further it................i can't say that by what i have been seeing...............everybody want to stop it.don't buy another gun............and sit on what you have............forever.............wink!! and the beat go's on...................Ron
JimFromFL
QUOTE (Sig @ May 8 2004, 09:28 AM) Claimed to be 95%. thanks for looking michael That phrase "Claimed to be..." always gets me. I had a guy offer me what he "Claimed to be..." a mint drum. Pictures showed much of the drum covered with rust. His justification was that it was mint for being over 50 years old. Keep in mind, it could be 95%..... but refinished.
Z3BigDaddy
QUOTE (SecondAmend @ May 8 2004, 12:24 PM) Of course I'm paying $1.93 per gallon for the same gas I bought for $1.43 per gallon a few months ago too. Prices on a lot of stuff have gone ballistic. That's nothing at the NASCARâ„¢ race, at California Speedway, water sells for 24 bucks a gallon! Milk is over 3 bucks a gallon.... And BTW where do you get gas that cheap?

John Jr
Gas should cost about a buck a gallon. We continue to let arabs strangle us with OPEC. But, hey, since water is WAY more expensive, who cares how much we pay for gas. Lets just go ahead an wait till gas is $25 per gallon THEN pitch a fit. The price of fuel costs each and every American. Look around you and tell me what was not placed in your house directly or indirectly via motor fuel. Anyone looked at the stock market in the last 5 years? Let me help you out: http://www.cswnet.com/~luther/diamonds.jpg The Diamonds (the Dow) http://www.cswnet.com/~luther/spy.jpg The Spiders (the S&P) http://www.cswnet.com/~luther/qqq.jpg The Q's (the Nasdaq) NOW FOR OIL PRICES!!!! http://www.cswnet.com/~luther/oil.jpg GET THE PICTURE YET? Oil prices have gone up, but the market has not. A VERY large number of people in this country rely on the markets to make them money so they can retire and live happily ever after. At the rate things are going, the oil companies and arabs are the only ones who will live happily ever after. Oh, by the way the 21/28 Navy in 95% would be worth at least $25-30K if its REALLY in that condition. Jr
LSU Tiger
Well, Philohio, "to the victor go the spoils," right? Let's start sending tankers of Iraqi oil up the Mississippi to various refineries. That should drop the cost of gas... Seriously, it's all a racket. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
Mike Hammer
When the dust settled at the end of the 70's, a decade where American economics were left in ruin by the oil embargo of 30 years ago, I wrote my Senators and Congressman to plead with then to do something so that this would never happen again. All I got were blowhard replys like, "I'm all for a comprenensive domestic energy policy, yes we need one badly". Yea, well look how hard they worked at it the past 25 years, we have NOTHING in the way of an energy policy, it's the same old import the oil and screw the American public! You cannot tell me that the small percentage of imported foreign oil should affect the extreme upward price that we must pay for gasoline. Phil is right, the American oil profiteers see this as a great opportunity to price fix and screw our eyes out. I've seen this all before, our economic structure is on course for a collapse, we are all in for hard times ahead, the writing is on the wall! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif Mike Hammer
