All,

I appreciate the devoted BM59 collectors on this board. Although I don't own a BM59, I have a close friend who does, and I've shot it before, and understand the allure. I've read many of the posts here in this forum, and hope to continue to expand my knowledge regarding the Beretta series of Garand based rifles.

Many of you probably know of my affinity for paper items associated with firearms. I recently acquired some BM59 material, and just finished scanning it to pdf files. I am making it available here for download, since BM59 literature is so difficult to find.

The first item is a really neat and scarce Beretta BM59 Sales Catalog, dated 1961. It includes a large foldout poster. It's a 47 MB file.

Here is the download link:

The second item is a Santa Fe BM59 Sales Flyer, circa mid-1960's. if anyone can more accurately date this flyer, I would appreciate the information. Since it has a zip code, I know it's post 1962.

I am going to pin this topic to the top of the board until we can eventually put together a BM59 Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) reference post.

If you found these links useful, please feel free to click on the reputation button in the lower right hand corner of the post, to show that you "like" this post.

Thanks!

The Golden State Ad I had never seen before.

Thanks for sharing !

The Golden State item is a sales flyer, folded in thirds. It might have also been printed as an ad, but the example I have is printed on one side, and looks to have been a handout or mailed item.

Thanks!

Dalbert, thank you so much for your posting!

I have a rifle that is identical in appearance to the Golden State Arms Santa Fe M59 pictured in the flyer you shared (thanks again!). Mine, however, is marked as an Alpine Model 11, and also marked 7.62 NATO in several places as well.

FWIW, the receiver is buffed but for the serial number, M14 mags work flawlessly in it, but I haven't shot it for a while as I'm getting some extraction failures and think that it's getting out of headspace and I don't have the skills to work on it myself.

I would appreciate any recommendations to any gunsmith who would be willing to tune this thing for me, or replace the barrel if need be. Thanks!
