Tiz
I am looking for a source for a demilled Browning 1919 machine gun for display on my WWII Willys MB Jeep. I have the mount already on the Jeep. Any leads or information on where I might locate a demilled Browning 1919 would be greatly appreciated. Black River Militaria CII
There are a variety of different approaches to making non-gun display MGs including resin copies which are excellent, inexpensive and very light. ATF guidelines on the construction requirements for “dummy” MGs made from vintage parts are quite strict and also, dummy MGs made from vintage parts are getting quite expensive. My suggestion would be to look at the 1919a4 site, www.1919a4.com and put in a want-to-buy ad for what you are looking for and see what is the response. Check out various other MG and gun sites for dummy MGs as well as A4s do show up now and then. Good luck.
ron_brock
A few years back parts kits could be had for around $300, now they are over $1300. Your best bet is likely the resin copy as suggested and add some nice accessories. Ron
Tiz
Do you have any info or web site info for resin copies? Thanks
JimB
resin is way more cost effective if you want a metal one: http://www.replicasandmodels.com/1919A4.html
TSMGguy
It's amazing by how much the MG mount, pintle, and gun weigh. I removed it all from my '43 MB and sold everything off. Here's a vehicle that already has a high center of gravity, and the MG raises it considerably. The smart G503 driver slows way down for corners, with or without the MG. If I can find a source for a resin one I would probably go with that.

I would only have the gun on for parades etc., I know the 1919A4 weighs about 31 pounds not counting the mount and pintle.
Adg105200
A quick Google search doesn't bring up any resin replicas for a 1919. Another company that has aluminum is Iron Creations, but it seems all the metal ones are around the $1500 mark plus shipping. Andrew
