hkg3k
I'll be doing a 1910 Maxim build (f/a) at some point in the near future and need some help deciding which water jacket style to go with.So should I go with the conventional fill port -or- go with the larger "snow cap" style of fill port.Pros and Cons for both? Thanks in advance. BillyDixon
ive always thought the snow cap maxim has more cool appeal, justsayn.
RoscoeTurner
I am completely neutral on the subject, I have one of each type. However, to me a lot would depend on what date the top cover is that you want to use. The snow cap was late in the history of the Russian/Soviet Maxim. StrangeRanger
I won't pretend to know anything about correct configurations or differences in function. All else being equal, the snow cap is unique and distinctive, I'd say go with it just for that reason
RoscoeTurner
Generally you will find the snow cap on 1910s dated 1943 - 1945. I would use that as guide as to which one you want to build.
