I am interesting in purchasing a MG34 Lafette tripod. I want one in exceptionally nice condition that is complete with all WW2 German parts, original data plate, and functions correctly. I would prefer one in original paint, although will consider repaints. Please let me know what you have available. Thank you.

That's going to be a tough find. I just got another one in Friday and it is nowhere near your expectations. If I were to sell this one, it would probably be 4K? What you are looking for is well over 5K if you can find one. Likely you'll have to get one out of the EU and most of those have some sort of issue....paint, data plate, or function that may not be disclosed? Best of luck in your search. I know of a several, but no one is selling.

I knew this would be a difficult search so I wanted to post on the boards to give me the best opportunity in the event a fellow enthusiast had one available. I know I will have to pay for that pristine example, but I am willing in order to get the right one for my collection. In the interim, will you send me more details on yours with photos if you have them. Thanks.

These would be what I would call intermediate tripods. They are functional, but been messed with and parts replaced. Even these aren't that easy to find anymore unfortunately. The whole semi market cleaned these off the shelves years ago. I do have one nice one, but couldn't get pics of it. All have full optics packages, so really all that's missing are several original parts (on these) and shoulder straps.....real ones. Neither is for sale at this time unless I upgrade, but they are representative examples of the most common ones out there for sale. HTH

Thanks for the information and photos. They look like better examples than a lot of what I have seen on the market today. The fact you have the full optics package is great. Like many things I wish I had purchased a really nice, complete example years ago when they were more readily available. In the event you decide to sell something in the future, please let me know in case I haven't found anything in the interim.

I am willing to wait and pay the cost for a really nice, complete example. Therefore, if anyone has one or hears of one becoming available I would appreciate you letting me know.

I'll keep an eye out. I sold one about 4 years ago that was sort of rough at knob creek for 3200. It was on the table for an hour and I haven't seen another one there since then.

I do have some nice MG42 lafettes for sale. Of course the downside is the guns are so much more nowadays than 34's, what you save on the tripod you spend on the gun....and then some. I've gotten some stuff in the last few months I thought I'd never get a hold of, but stuff pops up all the time.

Thanks for letting me know. I am hoping to find a nicer one as the one on Gunbroker is a little rougher than I would like with some missing/replaced parts. I am still in the market so if anyone has a nice, complete MG34 lafette tripod for sale please let me know.

MG34 Lafettes are hard to find. Been wanting one but have balk at the prices they command (typically over $3k). Ended up using a MG3 Lafette with optics at 1/3 the price but had to add an adapter on my MG34 to make it work. Sounds like you really want the MG34 so I won't go into the details how to make that work, but it's super easy.

Several years ago, I have had dealings with "Aubrey Military Antiques". using international bank transfers for funds.

I believe that the current process is to fill out a Form-6......takes a couple months (but you're waiting anyway....right-?).......and explain all of this to the owner in England.

I think that he has a few MG34 Tripods......one a 1939 dated-model.

Expensive (maybe).......buy you can get any number of clear photos, description, and my last purchases were all well packaged.
