MisterB
I have no idea what this is. It is dated 1943, and the button says canada on it. Any thoughts?
TSMGguy
You have a BREN gun magazine pouch made in 1943 by the firm of Zepher Loom & Textile (ZL&T), a Canadian (Toronto) maker of P-37 web gear during WWII. United-Carr, Canada, made the snap. The Canadian broad arrow C property stamp is visible in the third photo. The pouch held two magazines. Sounds like that gun, and therefore this pouch was used by the British. I collect US WWII memorabilia, so have no need for this. If someone is interested, make me an offer
Black River Militaria CII
I’ll venture to say that it appears that it is not for .303, but for the 7.92 magazines for the Inglis 7.92 production for the Chinese Contract guns and whatever other contracts were let for 7.92 versions. The 7.92 mags are much shorter than the curved .303 mags and straight sided, and from the looks of it, .303 curved mags would not fit. But without dimensions it can’t be confirmed. What is it worth to you?

I'd let it go for $20 plus shipping
Black River Militaria CII
Looking at the pics, it is curious that there are three folds sewn into the inside rear of the pouch at the top that suggest to me that the pouch imight not a not hold mags but is for something else. Are the folds designed to hold some small pin like items? Are they cushions for the upper part of the contents?Doesn’t seem to be much info available about such a pouch. Black River Militaria CII
Description of pouch from a longtime Canadian MG collector friend of mine: The pouch is what we call a 37 Pattern basic pouch. I was worn on the front of the web gear from the belt to the shoulder straps. The pouch was used for a number of things including Bren and Sten mags however normally a bit short for the Sten unless crammed in. They were not a dedicated Bren mag pouch but an auxiliary pouch that could take and did take Bren mags. Hope this helps... They are a $25.00 unit (CDN) (10.75 US)and at one time you could not give them away other than for tool bags. Hope this helps.

av8tr
I have no need for it, but I do travel to Canada with some frequency. And $25 (CAD) is $19.58 (US), at today's exchange rate.
