Scarface

Wow!

Have always wanted to see this film

Flipping channels and there it was, uncut (the original "violent" version)

on Turner Classics just tonight!

Man, Colt Thompson heaven! The imortal words of Paul Muni " Look, you can carry it, just like a baby!"

Boris Karloff cracking open the Thompson crates, Drums all over, being loaded left and right.

And of course, the sermon on how "Machine Guns" have to be taken out of the publics hands, a Federal law

must be written". Really amazing film, great period piece.

Zamm, I love the old classic movies, like this one. Some others that come to mind are, Public Enemy, Angels With Dirty Faces, G-Men, The Roaring Twenties, White Heat, etc. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Regards, Walter

Walter,

Thanks, forgot about G-men and Public Enemy ! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Will try and see if I can get them on Netflix.

I looked for Scarface, but they only had the 80's version.

Cheers, Zamm

I saw a dvd with a collection of gangster movies, which included some of those you mentioned. They had it at Best Buys. I'll pick it up next time.

My wife bought me this set for Valentines day. It's a set of 6 DVD's called "Warner Bros. Pictures GANGSTERS collection". It includes "Little Caesar", "The Public Enemy", "Petrified Forest", "The Roaring Twenties", "Angels with dirty faces", and "White Heat". Their all classics from the 30's and 40's with Cagney, Bogart, Robinson and others. Great movies if you like the old stuff.

I think it was $48 on Amazon. They had a deal that if you applied for the Amazon Visa card they give you a $30 credit so the set only cost us $18.
