Ron A
Is this for real? I purchased one a year ago for $75.00??? Where does it stop, or does it? Item # 3688384528 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MEWA:IT
Sig
That is about the going rate for an original actually a bit less. There are so many reprints of this catalog one has to be careful. I have a couple reprints and one original. Reprints have been going for about $50 or less. If yours is truly original you got a steal. michael
SecondAmend
Ron, Is this perhaps "e-bay" bizarreness? There is a Roger Cox Thompson book on Sturm for "only" $275 (still way more than I feel the urge to pay): http://www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/nfa4sale....cgi?read=47184 How can the '29 catalog get $510?? I'm confused.
Sig
Evilbay had a Roger Cox book that went for $275. As for the 29 catalog well all I can say is someone paid it.
Ron A
I guess that I was lucky to get an original for what I paid. I have purchased Thompson items for more than I thought they were worth. In every case the items went up in price, and are selling for more than I paid. Collecting Thompson guns and items are no longer a average persons hobby. Unless you are willing to part with real money there is no room for you in the hobby. The average person having an interest in owning a 21 should just forget it. My first 21 was obtained in trade for two AR15's, with a Colt C drum and Colt L drum and original case thrown in. This catalog went for twice what I had in the 21. Wonder where the market will be in 10 years.
