Kahr C Drum

Recommended Posts

The awaited 100 round drum is now showing on the Kahr/AO website. Auto-ord It shows as "coming soon" with an MSRP of $599. Assuming a dealer price might be lower, and if they don't mess this one up like the first "L" drums....maybe we have hope here for a new supply of functioning "C" drums. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

"A Thompson is just not a Thompson without the most famous accessory item ever - the Drum Magazine. The impressive look and feel of the Drum Magazines are unsurpassable. Each authentic drum is entirely U.S. manufactured to the specifications that are as close as possible to the original. The 10 Rd. and 50 Rd. drums have a diameter of 6 3/4". The 100 Rd. drum has a diameter of 8 3/4". Each drum is shipped with a drum installation device (3rd hand) and a Thompson manual."

As close as possible, eh? Please pardon my skepticism.

I got in on the Kahr L drum buy. taking 6, of which 4 were OK, one didn't work and one had the MIG wire spot welded to the top edge of the body. Last week I ordered in 2 more L's and neither one runs perfectly yet after some tinkering. One would not even go into the gun because the rivets were too high. This is at $200 per drum. At $500+ for a C drum from an outfit with such poor quality control, they need to find another sucker to help them test the market.

On the other hand the 3 new Kahr carbines that came in - 1927 Deluxe, Light Weight and M1 were nicely done and they ran perfectly! Is this par for the course in regard to their carbines now?

Did someone mention awhile back that Merle wouldn't touch the new Kahr drums? Anyone know that for sure?

At $400 this fellow is selling below the mfg. suggested retail which makes me wonder if he has already tried it, it didn't work and he stuffed it back into the packaging and is dumping it to an unsuspected buyer. Alright, do we have any C drum guinea pigs out there willing to let go of 400 smackers to see how these Kahr's perform? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/hail.gif

it would seem that their m1 carbine is also suffuring from problems...both mech and service dept related....

you can bet i'll not be on the waiting list for a "C". although i will be standing on the side lines hoping that something changes.

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif I'd take one at the 400 price, its better than swallowing 600!

I only had a few minor problems with the L, nothing that couldn't be fixed. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif

In Response To: Kahr releasing new "C" drums @ $500 (Anon)

I made some calls yesterday and found that the C-drum has not been released yet. When it does come out it will be good to go for both semi and full autos. The price will be 600$. I think this one will be a good C-drum or it will NOT get released. Merle in Oregon"
