EBR Works
We have a Stenling gun that was built on an early CATCO tube. The issue is that the bolt will consistently over-ride the sear and render 2-3 round bursts on semi and run-ons of 2-3 round in FA after trigger release. If the bolt if pulled fully back on an empty chamber and released without touching the trigger, about 50% of the time the sear is over-ridden. Slow mo video of this: A photo of the sear: I would appreciate any feedback on how to address this issue. A photo of the gun for those that want to see it: Thanks very much! m3bobby
The devil is in the detail! Check the block for worn edges. Is the block a good fit in the tube? Is the block correctly sat in the tube so the sear faces are aligned? Does the sear sit at the correct height? Does the block ride over the sear or the sear depress as the block passes over? EBR Works
Some more photos: Difficult to get a good measurement, but the top of the sear appears to be about .180" above the tube wall. There seems to be excessive diameter of the tube, which leads to this photo. I just noticed that there appears to be a hairline crack in the tube directly above the sear: It appears that someone attempted another repair to the right of the crack. Can you recommend a qualified gunsmith that could repair this? Thanks. Edited October 11, 2018 by EBR Works

m3bobby
Have you got another trigger pack you can try? Could the suspect crack be from the welding up of the Sten slotts when it was converted to Sterling?
