I made a great new addition to my depression era firearms collection. A sweet 1873 Winchester chambered in 44 WCF. For a rifle made in 1888 it is in amazing condition. The bore is not bad with good rifling. It was accurate out to 100 yards when I tried it out. I remember my grandfather having a model 1873 in the late 50's ... I used to slip into the room it was kept in and peek at it in the closet ... I remember the side plates on my grandpa's Winchester. Funny how something like that sticks with a guy.

Anyway, a good old rifle, with great mechanics and really decent wood for it's age.
