rick57
I have a 20 round stick mag works perfectly. We have 3 30 round mags that jam some more than others. What im wondering is would taking out the recoil springs so I can work the bolt back and forthat home eaiser while bending and testing the mags work? id rather not leave the springs in and pull the bolt back and let it go with the spring force and risk damageing the few dummy rounds I have Edited February 10, 2019 by rick57
Hossbreed45
I tried doing exactly that. It didn't work for me. Not enough force to strip the rounds from the magazine and into the chamber. Good luck...
95mustang
And if ya try it without the firing pin or firing pin spring in, it will slam shut so fast it will crush the round just as it leaves the feed ramp and into the barrel. It only works when it's completely assembled . rick57
well I went and tried it any way.I had to make a wooden block so the bolt didnt come back too far and let the bolt handle come out of the slot. And it worked back and forth by hand great. I had one mag that miss fed every 3 or 4 rounds. I retried it with dummys after taking the springs out and it still miss fed same asit did before with the springs and ammo. So I then started bending the mag and working it by hand with dummys until it didn't miss feed. Then with it all back together I ran about 50 rounds through it with no misfeeds at all. So I was able to fix it without using up a bunch of ammo. When I get time ill do it with the other mag and see if it works just as well the second time.
