stingray656667
There is an oval relief cut into the underside of the upper receiver at its very front just where the bolt comes to rest at it forward most firing position. What is the purpose of this oval relief? Thank you for any replies. stingray656667
BillyDixon
its a clearance cutout for the special cutter that cuts the relif corner ares so bolt will fit flush into upper reciever, no other reason, just sayn
reconbob
I think he is referring to the oval shaped cut in the "ceiling" of the receiver at thefront of the bolt pocket. This recess is to allow fouling, dirt, etc. a place to accumulate. Bob
