TN.Frank
Good question. With the AWB gone bye bye you can now have a colaspable stock on one, that's nice. That 16" barrel will have to go, looks way to goofey. They offer help with a SBR form so you can pay your $200 tax, fill out the forms and send them in to BATFE and wait 4 months and pick up one with a 10" barrel the way they're suppose to have. I think that'd be the way to go if you really want on, that way even if it's not a FA it'll still look right. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif
Abwehr
brian, I can't document what I am going to say, but on one of the Forums, there has been some comments on Valkerie Arms. The general concensus is that they are pretty good, but if there is a problem, the rework when sent back takes forever. Also, their customer service does not seem to want to help resolve any problems. Like I said, this is just comments from other Forums, no personal dealings with them. I have been contemplating getting one myself with the short barrel and $200 tax payment. There was a write-up in the last Shotgun News about the gun and it was positive, but here again, they advertise in Shotgun News. I would take a chance and go for it; the only other option is a F/A and big bucks.
REISINGSTAR
I just purchased one from them 3 weeks ago.Overall the gun resembles the M3a1 fairly well. the grip is polymer, rather than metal, and the "oiler" in the grip handle is a parkerized stove bolt, but other than that I am pleased. The gun fires reliably, but mine is more picky with ammo than the one tested by Shotgun News.It likes Winchester white box 230gr. fmj,but tends to jam with wolf ammo. When I first got the gun,the mainspring was so stiff I couldn't cock it wth my finger.(it uses two standard Thompson SMG mainsprings)I cut 1 1/2 coils off each spring, and now it is easier to cock, and jams much less. Valerie, who owns the company,is very pleasant to deal with, but works slowly.I ordered my M3 in early May,and got it in early September with a 30 day original delivery date. Hope this Helps! tom catman
post range report,.. shot it last week with my reloads.230grain lead with 4 grains bullseye, runs good,no problems.however at 50m it shoots low about 3 feet and left about 1 foot.since you cant adjust the sights too much for windage,i may have to add a laser or a holo sight we will see/
