Potential Flooding At Kcr; Near The Limit...

Recommended Posts

KCR & Ft.Knox area;.....Today,28 Mar, went to KCR to work in Jungle Walk area in the rain, and realized that we have absorbed the limit in rain for the last three days............There is always a delay in the effect of the rain with the rivers & creek around here, and by tomorrow, & wednesday we will see what we got......As of today, the water in the creek around the access bridge was a couple of feet from coming out of it's banks, and the water back at the Jungle Walk was approaching the mud steps that devide the lower from the upper of the course.(you guys that have gone thru the course, know what area I am talking about)..... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif

Another couple of feet and the jw will be covered.

The Salt river of West Point, is coming out of it's banks too.

I hate the way the range is ruled by the weather. Another element in the flooding of the bridge, is the clowns that run the pumps/gates that govern the flow of the creek. Kenny's pleas with these idiots, have done little to make them relieve the pressure on the creek in the past. ...Let us hope for the end of the rain, and sunshine ahead.......

I'll keep you'al informed............jw

Now that's an idea! I got to be a pretty good shot with that thing, in my old diving days. Looks like a couple of days shootin' the shit at the hotel with some cold beers is in the works. Radcliffe Inn, here we come. Or we could sit out in the fields like I did last fall. Ever field strip a Thompson and have to show someone how to put it together when your drinkin'? Man was that guy nervous.

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Today, 31 Mar, Jungle Walk under 3 feet of water at the back/lower end; At the access bridge, the creek is up to shoulders of the banks. The engineers informed Kenny, to expect 5 more feet of water starting today........It may come in fast and be gone swiftly, and in time for the 8th.

We are looking at two new places to put the jw, and the asl/bolt rifle competition, which would be located straight down the rear trail, past the Smg match site, and on down along the straight road, where two mini-valleys sit to the left of the road............This would be in the event of the lower old area being flooded, but the bridge remaining above water.

In January of this year, the water was so backed up from the rains after Christmas, that the access bridge was flooded over for 2 full weeks; It drove us local old geezer shooters crazy.... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif

Just got to wait and see............jw

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Well all worries are to the side now; Kenny has been assured by the those above, that the water level will be maintained, and the level may even recede some. ......The access bridge is out of theat of being flooded, thankfully that is over......

Unfortunately, there will be no Jungle Walk, but all else will happen without a hitch... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif

As far as the parking conditions, it will be a mess, and the mud and wetness in those areas will be something to deal with,ha!....

Maybe I;ll see some of yous guys in the dealer areas. ..Mike, I want to follow you around..!!!............jw

TD- all the areas close by are the same, soft right now. There might be some drying out before the 8th. Overflow parking later on in the day, sometimes is down by the school pk lot......

Bob, Sorry to hear that there will be no Jungle walk this year. I guess that there is no reason then to bring down one of my toys for the event.

But I still want to meet with you so let me know where you will be, I should be there sometime, Friday or Saturday and will be going to talk with Folke at A10 about the MG34's, I want some more info. on my Israeli marked one.

Maybe in the fall I might get to come back.

Can't you get some of the guys down there to punch some extra drainage holes in the ground?
