compensator/barrel threads

Hi All;

I admit I have a hard time with the American 'inch" standard but I have a barrel I got years ago.
Today I received a compensator but it will not screw onto the barrel. Also, there is no hole in the compensator for the sight roll pin.

As far as I can measure, the barrel thread is 1 per MM (16 threads per 9/16th inch).
The compensator seems to have threads less dense (maybe 11 threads per 13MM of threads)

Is it the barrel or the compensator that is not Thompson standard?

Personally, I'd see if I could make arrangements to send it to Dan Block ... If you don't have the tools or expertise Thompson semi's can drive you nuts.

the thread is 3/4" x 28tpi for this a good lathe is your friend

It apparently had a burr because I finally got it to thread.

I am really cautious about forcing anything with this gun.

I have been trying to measure the threads but the ones inside the compensator are awkward to examine.

Not going to try to force anything.

It seems really odd there would be two different threads for the compensator.

Gi and west Hurley semi barrel/comp threads are the same... I don't recall exactly when kahr started the press fit.. But it's been quite a few years now.

the thread should be 3/4 x 28 tpi, get a 1/4 UNF bolt from the store and see if the teeth align up, this will confirm the TPI
