peter kohler
I ran into an old friend of mine the other day and we did some trading on car parts for a Thompson stock and butt plate. the stock is in great condition with a smooth shiney finish. the stock mounting holes are roughly 3 5/8 center to center. the butt plate goes over the comb but need to be tweaked a bit to fit. it has the oil hole door and two screws. so what model Thompson is this off of. thanks peter
95mustang
with a 3 5/8 ths approx mounting hole space .......it's a 1928 buttstock and attaches to a bracket that slides onto the 1928 framemore than likely it was /is a USGI surplus ww2 stock . there are tons of em out there the other style was for an m1 or m1a1 and bolted directly to the m1 frame , the mounting holes are only 2 inches apart on an m1 buttstock
peter kohler
if I bought a new semi Thompson with the detachable stock would this work on the bracket?
95mustang
the T1B ? I had a look at their website it does look like the same thing as a 1928 . but not having one physically in hand , who knows if Kahr stayed faithful to the original dimensions
58healeybn6
I presume that the stock has a push button release at the rear of the wrist, making it for a 1921/1928 or 1928A1. If it has a crossbolt at the wrist, it would be for a 1928A1. If it does not have a crossbolt, it could be for a 1921 or 1928. Either way it should fit right onto the 1927A1 receiver. I did that with mine; fit with no problem.
peter kohler
it does have the cross bolt but no other hardware besides the butt plate..
58healeybn6
If it indeed is a detachable type of stock from a 1928 and it is missing the mounting hardware, those are sometimes available on ebay, but more often on Gunbroker. Make sure that you buy from someone in the states; a lot of east european stuff out there. Make sure that it has the spring, button, and hardware with it.
