Huge WW2 stick magazine stock at Zib Militaria (Germany)

Recommended Posts

Zib Militaria, in Germany has an incredible stock of WW2 stick magazines,

Could US citizens import magazines ? ... or for those who live in Europe ...

XX price : € 7.90 each (around $9.00)

XXX price : € 49.90 for 10 (around $ 57.00)

But no possible marking choice !

they also have magazines in waxpaper

There was a recent discussion on the magazine import law at this Board thread:

My understanding of it was there was an exemption if the wholesale value was less than $100?? However, I'm not sure, so will be interesting to see responses of those more knowledgeable.

Interesting link. I have purchased items form Germany in the past. There were no problems.

There are never any problems unless they catch you importing them. Now that is NOT according to me. My importer friend told me that. I asked him if there was a dollar limit and he said he didn't know that one.

Better ask Zib. There are many things for sale within the EU, but not to the US. They recently had an original Astra Condor 800 magazine in nice shape and for a good price, but they wouldn't sell it to me.

Paul,

Eu citizens can, I made an order from ZIB a few months ago, as you say, no choice of markings though. All the magazines received, both XX & XXX, were AO, Seymour, with one Crosby XXX. So perhaps the photos shown on website are not representative of their actual stock. I also ordered some in 'wax paper', but they arrived unwrapped, but in like new condition all the same.

Stay safe

Richard

They probably still have the Colt C Drums in the Ukraine when Dave was there well over twenty years ago they had a crate of new ones at the time he asked me what i would pay for them i told him easy over $1,000.00 each.He said they have a hundred all numbers matched.I said a hundred grand done deal. he could not figure a way to get them out i said use the connection in Switzerland to get them there first. Problem was paperwork showed USSR. Originator it was one big cluster mess.At the time i had them all gone for well around $200 grand plus. They are probably still in the guys Warehouse in that Crate. Shipped out around 1924 or so. why who know's.

I knew a guy who tried to transship lugers from East Germany to West Germany and then to the US. Very short story, he got caught. Customs found a EG lable on one of the crates and seized them. He fought it and in the meantime had to pay bonded storage in Philadelphia, legal fees, interest on the credit line and finally lost. Went bankrupt over that deal..…………………... Don't ever try to transship.

In January I paid for a mauser Schnelfuer 712 10 round detachable mag in England. It got as far as customs in Chicago on Jan 18 and I haven't heard a word since and the tracking number hasn't been scanned any further. I assume now, that I should of had some kind of import paperwork with it.

I have tried a search through USPS and they tell me what I already know. The U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection, (CBP) does not track packages into or out of The International Sorting Center (USPS). I do think that I was supposed to notified by CBC that my package was detained for lack documentation but they have not contacted me and unless they do I will never receive the package, it also has not been returned to the sender in England.

So I know there's got to be someone here that knows what importation paperwork you must fill out to get stick mags into the U.S. I mean they ARE coming in?

A ffl imported 15+ mp40 kits last year. He bought them functional and had the barrels and receivers cut. Then imported them and sold the kits for $2300

I grabbed one and a forum member grabbed another.

I cant remember what European country they came from anymore. The ffl was in FL

If he could do that, why cant a dealer buy those mags and bring them in?

On the stemple Facebook page a guy brought in 50+ Suomi coffin mags last year.

Mike, I had the same problem with Chicago customs a few years ago. I googled up a number (don't have it any more) and spoke to a nice lady who found the package, I gave her the tiny bit of info that she needed to advance it's status and a few days later I had it. It could have sat there for years if I didn't call. It's worth a try. If not at least you know that it's a dead deal.
