rkr
I was looking at a Thompson for sale with some strange features. First it has "US 1928" but no A1. Serial # is 320TF. No S or AO before serial #. Finned barrel with a compensator with only a Thompson bullet on top. An adjustable site that looks like a lyman but no markings on the site. Lower has no serial # but all correct fire markings. Gun is all blued not parkerized. From a distance it looks like an early 1928A1 but up close this must be a parts gun or something else. Any ideas???
The1930sRust
Strange? Not at all. Just a modern production Thompson made in West Hurley New York. The "TF" gives it away as a West Hurley Model of 1928. Coincidentally, my Westy is 338TF. It was (and so is the one you saw) originally created in 1981 as a .22 caliber automatic, converted to .45 in 1987. See this link for more details.
