There is some debate on this, but Frank Hamer used one to end Clyde & Bonnie's rampage. His monitor used to be on display at the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco, Texas.I think Larry Wack's FBI site has stuff on the monitors too. OCM Posted October 28, 2014 Report Share Posted October 28, 2014 John Paul Chase had one with Baby Face Nelson, at the Barrington shoot-out. Fired it out through the front window, from the rear seat, of the 34 Ford while Nelson's wife ducked down. Only way you could shoot one in a 34 Ford, to big to hold up in the front seat.As far as I know it completely disappeared with Chase & Nelson's wife Helen. ( Baby face died). I think this monitor came out of New York city connections. Glad Darryl popped up about his, wasn't my place to say, of course. Very rare. I did a model of one on a FN- D frame, not very good tho- Never really finished it. Did two more with BAR/FN-D parts kits for display. Always wanted one but a couple cars go in the way. The guy I bought it from said if they had found it a month sooner it would have been register as a Dealers Sample Anyway, it has a torch cut through the rear of the ejection port, and the entire front of the receiver is missing (with the serial number). I believe there is a gentleman named Rocky that had one atone of MG shoots a while back. It is in a common interenet photo, the one with a pencil stuck behind the bolt. Sandy,I'm learning more and more about the tenuous relationship between Baby Face Nelson & Dillinger.Gillis, BFN, is the reason why my gun was bought by the Reno Sheriff Dept.BF Nelson was seen a lot in Reno and was purported to have killed a bank teller, Roy Fisch, who was scheduled to testify in courtagainst one of BFN's buddies. It was said that he was dumped in an abandoned mine shaft.Pretty interesting stuff.Mr. Gist, the Sheriff's Dept. historian is working on getting me more info and photos on it's history.Attached is a 50's era sign that was in the Sheriff's Department's headquarters. Friend up in Maine well connected to Nelson info, same guy that provided tons of info on my Whitey Bulger Thompson. Also Helmer co-authored the book on Nelson, I speak with him a couple times a month. I assume you've scanned Larry's site on Nelson.He wasn't liked by Dillinger much, but a necessary part of the machine. I've talked with the Dillinger family, really didn't like when he came around the farm. Interesting character. Lock him, Clyde Barrow and Wilbur Underhill up in a room and see who survives ! Ouch. I'm not enamored with Nelson by any means, he was a ruthless punk from the way it sounds.I'm only pursuing the connection due the near skirmishes between him and the Sheriff's Dept., a pretty elusive character.
