Just curious if anyone here has one. I have been thinking it would be cool to have one, but I am surprised how few real military ones I see for sale. I really want a WWII original in working order, but it seems easier and maybe cheaper to find a 1921a. Are they really rare or am I looking in the wrong places?

I have one. As to difficulty, I started looking for an uncut one in about 1973-74 when I found some tanks and assorted parts. I found an uncut wand several years ago. A lot of what you see are agricultural wands or reconstructed from destroyed parts.

With the economy the way it is several have come up for sale in the last few years so as Mel Fisher said "today is the day". He was still saying that even after he found the Atocha. I should be saying that and looking for another wand. There are a few guys on 503.com that post pics of theirs on occasion. I'll ask around for you just in case. A friend has a US M3 coaxial flamethrower for sale if you are interested. He may have another M2. I think he just sold a couple on gunbroker. Check 383mopar.

I know this thread is five years old but I've found a source. Apparently there is one particular company in Michigan that is currently producing a version of the hand held flamethrower. This model doesn't require heavy pressure filled tanks either. It is totally self sufficient. The company making them do so only for the civilian market customers. So yea you can buy one. Another thing is that flamethrowers aren't regulated by the BATF they don't even consider flamethrowers as any kind of weapons. However thee are two or three states that have starte laws against them. But most states do not. Anyway anyone reading this if you're interested in possibly buying one go to this site -- http://www.xm42.com go now
