darrylta
Dan,If you need any dimensions or details on the Monitor, let me know. It will give me an excuse todig it out from the back of the safe. Is this new project a live full auto?Darryl
deerslayer
Yes live full auto from a Phili ordnance receiver. Would be nice to compare details on stuff before I build.
darrylta
A detail that I see that's often missed is the front grip wood. The Monitors used R75 front grips, the mortise for the folding mag wellcover was filled & glued in with a walnut strip. It's kinda hard to see, if you didn't know it was there, you'd miss it.Once your done, maybe you can send it to G. Fox so he can fashion a hard case for a Monitor. I've been talking to Gregg about one for while. We haven't solved the logistics of measurements for him to make a case for it.Thanks,Darryl Edited January 24, 2017 by darrylta
06AngusSG
Look to be a beauty when it's done. I love seeing the BAR in movies. I think it must have been just as if not (maybe) more intimidating than the Thompson.

darrylta
By the way Dan, George " Junkyardslug" has a Monitor demilled parts kit for sale if your interested.Darryl
deerslayer
That would be cool to buy the parts set but out of my budget... Darryl, i know one think I'd like is just a good tracing of the pistol grip. I've made several from eyeball and had one customer send me his custom water jet cut grip. But I don't think he went from an actual example. The last two semi auto monitors I built were then versions of that. So if the urge hits to dig your gun out. Just lay it on a piece of paper and trace that rear grip from the trigger to the back end.

deerslayer
Don't take anything apart just trace the outline of the grip area.
