Can I convert M3A1 to M3..?

Recommended Posts

I have a M3A1, and want to convert the action to M3.

....If I change the bolt to a M3 one, and change the lower to the one with the crank , will that be all I have to replace to make it work?

...Is it possible to change it over, safely?

All you would technically need to do is change out the lower. The bolts will work in either gun, as the only difference is the M3A1 has the cut out for your finger to go in. You will still have the large ejection port and safety for which there is no changing.

Why won't the M3A1 bolt work in an M3? The slot your showing is for the ejector not the cocking paw. That was one of the improvements they made on the M3A1 over the M3, to be able to remove the bolt assembly without having to drop the ejector/lower housing (in a sense-taking the whole gun apart)
