Greetings Fellow Members:

The Walther MPK has a 7 inch barrel and its a Great Shooter Mechanically but Highly Inaccurate.

It shoots 550 rpm and They also made a Longer version, the MPL which has a 10 inch Barrel.

If anyone has Experience With Either One, Please Share Them.

Actually Walther started manufacturing the MP series way back in the early 60s

A fair number did come in pre 68'

not a very significant quantity however there are a few transferables in the NFTR.

By the 70s Interarms was bringing them in. That was the source on the new in the box MPK kits Landies was selling in the late 90s. Allegedly when Interarms dissolved there was a stack of new guns in the vault. These came with the manual, factory target, etc in the 1970s Wood grained paste board box

As the active part is the lower Landies simply saw cut out the mag well. At one point they had new old stock barrels, bolts, ect.

I can recall when he had a stack of them at KCR. They were not cheap, think I was paying like $500 a pop around 97' ?

Uppers swap between the L and the K

Shooting ?

Very smooth guns. You don't see much on them so they are pretty much overlooked

Rubin has a couple complete lowers he has been offering

thing is really no one seems very willing to get off kits they have shelved up. I wouldn't even consider letting my kits go for less than 2.5K, even that's on the low side.

The Kits were dead easy builds

Landies kept the matching cut out mag wells, he would sell the matching well to SOTs or one could fab a replacement up from a M10/9 well

anyways a good share of the kits were ate up in postie builds or by folks with MPL guns that wanted to turn them into Ks

Ruben told me he has never seen a transferable Walther and guessed

since its so rare that it would be 50k. Walther made them between

63 and 1985. They got publicity as the German police used them in the 1972 Munich massacre.

Just in case you were wondering where the MPL & MPK bolts & barrels are now:

https://www.apexgunparts.com/machine-guns/sub-machine-guns/more/mpl-mpk.html

I have not run across any other parts for these YET!
We still have a lot of the OOW purchase / shipment awaiting handling.

Very nice!!!Thanks for sharing. Is it a pre 86 Dealer Sample?

Yes. I bought it last year for $5,000. It is fun to shoot although the dearth of parts is a bit of a pain. For instance, in order to put on a 3 lug on a spare barrel, I needed a spare barrel nut. None are available so I had one made. A friend of mine did it for free, and I probably have the only MPK barrel nut with single point cut threads. He did a perfect job. I bought a barrel and bolt from Apex. I just wish someone had some reasonably priced magazines.

I have had several Walther MPs over the years, cut back to just one MPK. All were pre-May samples. I have see a couple transferables over the years, but nothing recently. I did not find them inaccurate - any more so than any other open bolt SMG. They seem "clunky" to me when fired, although I do like the ergonomics. of the guns. I just dont shoot the one I have much anymore, as it was not an "issue" SMG for work, and not a historical one that we shot for fun. Sort of like the early MAC10 I have - cool to own but not really any thing to write home about when shooting it. Although the MAC10 is more fun now with a Bowers suppressor on it. I was lucky / smart enough to buy a bunch of mags back when they were available- and yes parts are a problem these days. I remember parts kits being sold along the way, so there must be some sitting in peoples garage.
