tvrc18
Any one see the show today on the History channel Tales of the gun? I can't remember what they called the storage depot but they have copies of all military weapons and equipment including jeeps, tanks, Thompsons etc. They opened a crate that had quite a few Thompsons and another crate with brand new BAR'S never issued and Grease guns still in the wrapper. Wonder if you could break in there and take a few items with out getting shot? wink- wink
DSkeet
QUOTE (tvrc18 @ Feb 14 2005, 08:08 PM) Any one see the show today on the History channel Tales of the gun? I can't remember what they called the storage depot but they have copies of all military weapons and equipment including jeeps, tanks, Thompsons etc. They opened a crate that had quite a few Thompsons and another crate with brand new BAR'S never issued and Grease guns still in the wrapper. Wonder if you could break in there and take a few items with out getting shot? wink- wink I saw that special today, kind of ironic since I shot my Thompson replica, an ar-15, and an sks yesterday. It was a good show, can't wait to watch the special about the St. Valentines Day Massacre tonight.
JimFromFL
I know which one you are talking about. They use that clip in 2-3 different episodes. Makes my mouth drool looking at those crates of beauties.

Remo Williams
"U.S. Guns of World War II". was the title. They also had "Japanese Guns of World War II" and "Military Firepower" episodes on today. The Military Firepower was spliced together from the M16,AK47 and Guns of Israel (Uzi) episodes. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif

If I delete one.....well I won't even go there! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif

rjb1
It wasn't the History Channel, but did anyone see the show "Mythbusters" on the Discovery Channel last night? The myth (urban-legend) that they were "busting" last night was the typical Hollywood tendency of someone who's been shot to fly backwards across the room. They shot a suspended pig carcass and a crash dummy with various weapons, including an M1 Thompson (!). The only time they got any noticeable movement (and not much at all) was with a 12 gauge slug. It was interesting to watch and showed that the Laws of Physics apply, except in the movies. Joel
