A few photos of the bolt handle that Doug's producing.

Very fine detailing, and craftsmanship. Doug has put time in these!

They are a work of art. Too bad my "Mona Lisa' is mounted in a poster frame, in a closet-adlake http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Those are really cool pics! The knurling is very defined. I'm glad I've got one of those on the way.

These things are sweet, the pics are good but they don't do justice until they are mounted in a gun!!! Course the proof is in the pudding and my W/H got up and ate drums and stick mags very well once I dropped the part in. A shock to me since when I got home to clean my toy I found I neglected to oil it before leaving. It never worked without a fresh oiling like that, let alone in the low fortys we were experincing.

Bisley45,

LOL, I agree!

They would look far nicer in the gun.

I figured I would shoot the pics in full to give the details of its entire appearance.

I tend to keep the 27 a little on the wet side after cleaning, perhaps a few drops of oil once I've run a few hundred rounds.

I keep my 1911's a little wetter while shooting, due to tighter tolerances.

Grey Crow

I tend to use about seven drops of light oil on my 1911's, two on barrel with slide locked back, ocasionaly one on the disconector, a pair on each grove in slide, close action and one on barrel hood, cycle a couple of time; never failed. Always needed to keep my W/H semi about how the militay M-16 maual defined heavy, enough lube that you could move it with your finger before I got Mr. Ricardsons miraculus cocking handle. I knew the elogegated oval and the width of the grove for the firing pin were the problems, just didn't want to pay Khar for replacements. Some bad stories of their early production, and not just on the board. Had just enough Hoppes light oil to make the parts glisten to prevent rust before I put it in storage a month prior. 450 - 500 rounds nary a hickup.
