jim c 351
Not a BREN gun -but what am I to do. I have just purchased a BSA Lewis LMG, 303 cal. It was made in early 1918. Its a REWAT and a WW2 rebuild. I have attached photos, hope they print OK. Since transfers are taking a long time I probably won't get my hands on the gun for 6 months. Its coming from out of state. In the mean time I will pass the time by buying spare parts and ammo. I've already bought 3 drums, a bolt and a pinion/gear assembly complete. Other parts will follow when I get my next pension check. One thing that I can't locate is a carrying handle assembly. Anyone out there have a complete carrying handle assembly for a Lewis Gun? For ammo I plan on shooting only reloads. I have 7000 , 30 cal, .309 dia, M72 Match projectiles. If my Lewis gun has a tight .311 bore, then I plan on using these bullets. They should be accurate enough for a machine gun. If the bore is over .311 then I will have to buy .311 bullets. Comments welcome. Jim C Sorry about the attachments not working. They didn't work for me either and I have no idea why. If you would like to see pictures of my Lewis Gun go to ---www1919.com---then "misc firearms"---then "new lewis gun owner". I had no trouble posting attachments on the 1919 site. Can't explain the difference. Edited August 12, 2010 by jim c
