gearchecker
Is there anything special I need to do to remove the Cutt's compensator off of my West Hurley 1927-A1?I want to have my gunsmith re-blue it, and thought it might be easier to remove it and give them just the compensator. Ivan
It should be a threaded with compensator pinned in place. Any competent smith can figure this out. Penetrating oil and a bit of heat helps. As to magazines, some like to alter the semi auto mag catch to accept unaltered magazines. The altered semi auto mags can be problem if not fitted right. Saw your other post. Lots of good info on this forum, especially for semi auto trouble shooting. Welcome aboard.
deerslayer
West Hurley probably isn't pinned... And we're just held on with some loctite. Most shoot loose. Just try turning it off. DIY you will have to improvise done sort of tools to grab onto it. If you are untwisting it you may also unscrew the barrel from the receiver...
