Collection Of Browning Machine Gun Manuals

Recommended Posts

All,

I was going through my personal collection and sales inventory of Browning Machine Gun manuals in preparation for the NRA Convention next month, when I realized that I have many more than I originally thought. (The American Thompson Association will present a display on the Guns of John Browning at the 2011 NRA Convention in Pittsburgh - It's a machine gun display.) I thought folks here might enjoy seeing the various manuals, and perhaps add a few more of their own to the thread. Let me know what you think...

David,

Do you have any commercial BAR or R80 Monitor manuals?

If so, I'd be interested in them.

Thanks,

Darryl

Darryl,

I do not have any R80 manuals for sale, but the one in the third set of pictures, titled, "Colt Automatic Machine Guns and Rifles" has 5 pages on the R80, and has more on the R75, including a fold-out parts diagram. For the R80, it covers General Description, Component Parts, Detailed Instructions for Dismounting and Assembling Colt "Monitor" Machine Rifle (R80), and General Data, including a list of the spare parts that were provided with each rifle. This item is from my personal collection.

I have several BAR manuals in my personal collection and inventory. I have two commercial BAR manuals, one of which I'm inclined to hang onto, which is titled, "Automatic Rifle," and was published by the Military Service Publishing Co., and covers the M1918 BAR. The other is an original Gale and Polden (British Home Guard market publishers during WWII) manual titled, "The Browning Automatic Rifle, Illustrated," and is available for $45 shipped. I can send pictures, if you're interested.
