Robert Henley
Interesting Thompson thread on S&W forum: http://smith-wessonforum.com/firearms-knives-other-brands/560268-thompson-1928-a1.html?utm_medium=email&utm_source=Weekly-Update-May-31-2018-&utm_campaign=Ampersand05312018
Ron Mills
Dang interesting for sure! Thanks for sharing that. Reading the entire thread shed more light as I read further.
TD.
Perhaps a member of this Forum that is also a member of the Smith & Wesson Forum will invite CLASSIC12 to this Board. I am sure he would enjoy the conversation.
dalbert
Yes, the Swiss owner could learn significantly more about his TSMG on this forum. I'm a member on that site, but it's been years since I've posted. I thought about replying, and posting a link to here, but thought better of it. The S&W forum mods can be pretty strict, and I'm not sure if they tolerate postings directing members to other sites. Maybe it wouldn't be a big deal, but I decided against it. Adg105200
Interesting, thanks for sharing. Maybe someone who is a member there could PM him. He would definitely benefit from this board. Andrew
giantpanda4
I have been a member there (primarily lurking) for years too, as my wife likes SS Smiths. I did make a comment and reference to TCA, TATA, and this forum. Hope he shows up! Nice gun!
Petroleum 1
Looking at the field strip photos the gun still looks to be FA or did classic12 say it was already semi?? Edited June 1, 2018 by Petroleum
Speeddemon02
The way I interpreted it was that it was a working FA
CptCurl
The deed is done. I just sent him a PM on the S&W forum inviting him to join here and take part in our discussions. CLASSIC12
Hi guys. And thanks for the invitation. But I am a member here, I registered the minute I won the auction for this gun. Here is the link to my original post (with even more pics than in the S&W forum). http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17674&hl= I have not been very active here, apologies. Back in 2015 I did receive the missing parts from the auction house, cleaned the gun, fixed the foregrip, reassembled it carefully, and took it to the range, but firing semi auto only. The gun shoots great, is accurate enough to 50 meters, and the weight makes recoil almost nonexistent. I have yet to fire it in full auto. I am slowly getting on good terms with the range owner, a tough cookie, former police special force (local SWAT if you will). So theres a good chance I can arrange a full auto shooting session soon. Ill try to take some pics then, and a range report. Edited June 3, 2018 by CLASSIC12
Robert Henley
I completely forgot about the post from three years ago. It would be nice to see some video of full auto if you are able to arrange. Robert
Adg105200
Good luck, hope you get to fire it! Definitely more pics and hopefully some videos. Great looking gun! Andrew

ThompsonCrazy
Excellent! Beautiful condition! Did you remove the barrel and have the grip mount replaced? TC
CLASSIC12
Excellent! Beautiful condition! Did you remove the barrel and have the grip mount replaced? TCNo, I am certainly not equipped and I don’t know a gunsmith who is, locally.
