StrangeRanger
There's this on GB: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/902661081 ...but it's a whole two pages. I'd like to find something a little more informative?Does anybody have one or know of one for sale?
dalbert
Yes, I have one, but have been hesitant to sell. Ill post photos of it when I have a chance. The pages on Gunbroker are copied from the predecessor to Small Arms of the World. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
StrangeRanger
Understand your reluctance to sell. To quote Will Rodgers on the subject of land values "They ain't making any more."I was hoping one of out Brit members might have an extra lying about
dalbert
I forgot that it's a French Lanchester manual. Here are some photos. It's the only Lanchester manual I've ever seen, or had in my collection. I tend to like to keep the unique ones. StrangeRanger
Thanks for posting those. I really like the fold-out cutaway views or should I say "les coupes." It's been 50+ years since high school French and I'm pretty sure the vocabulary that I learned then wouldn't have been much use in reading that manual. If you ever stumble across a pair of English manuals. keep me in mind for the second one
dalbert
I forgot about a British manual series that has a short section on the Lanchester (3 pages, plus a fold-out diagram). I have had it for a very long time, and it's titled, "The Armourer's Handbook," by Labore, and was published by Gale and Polden Limited in Aldershot during the war. The manual briefly covers examination, stripping, and tests (troubleshooting). David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
StrangeRanger
Can you possibly send me copies of the 3 text pages? The Froggy foldout is sufficient to see how it all goes together but the troubleshooting section will prove invaluable

StrangeRanger
Thanks but don't bother. I just spent the $19 to get the reprint from Cornell. It's got other good stuff in it so for that kind of money why not?
