Where was the bayonet stored?

Recommended Posts

Sometimes you can read in articles that the Ingram bayonet was stored inside the forearm in reversed position when not required.

I have know examined three US Ingrams and one Peruvian Ingram. All have the bayonet mount below the muzzle.

But the hole is not deep enough to take the bayonet in reversed position.

Any ideas where the bayonet was stored?

I guess it would have been dangerous to put it in the trouser pocket or backpack without any scabbard or special pouch?

i dont think this gun was ever that thought out as to have a place to put them...maybe they made a pouch...i dont think 1 person was ever bayonetted with a m6. I think MR.T of the A-team was the only one to use a M6 in battle
