Unfortunately, this interview propagates the misconception of the oft-cited AK-47. The dealer was undoubtedly speaking of the semi-auto AKS-47, but never brought up that fact. So the ignorant non-shooting public rightfully assumes that this guy's handing out the same thing our soldiers and Marines are seen getting shot with on the nightly news. This is also why I can't bring my 1927A1 to a local range because "we don't permit full-auto's here." "This isn't a full auto, it's an ATF-approved semi-auto carbine." "Buddy, I know a Tommy gun when I see one, so don't bullshit me."

 

I think that arguing the 2nd Amendment and gun ownership with her was less productive than walking out with a Mini-30 and asking "Would this rifle be OK with you? Well guess what...." would have been.

2nd Armored is right on the money. For most parts, the general public and certainly this ignorant newscaster, are under the misconception that anything called an AK 47 is a fully automatic gun when in fact these guns are just another semi-automatic rifle that is less powerful than most guns used for deer hunting. Just another example of clueless liberals that have no idea of what they are talking about. CNN= Communist News Network.

It's too bad he didn't think of what I consider an appropriate reply when the reporter kept asking about God and guns.

MY response would have been:

"We believe that our Constitional rights are inalienable in the United States. "And that our right to keep and bear arms is a God given inalienable right"
