85th Engineer
Several years ago a WWII vet gave me a canvas pouch that had been hanging in his garage for several years. He said he had brought it home at wars end after serving most of his duty in defense of the Alutian Islands. After buying my first Thompson I started paying attention to accesories and realized what I had been given was a drum pouch. The pouch is not torn or freyed but the material is a bit dirty and soiled from hanging out in the garage for all those years. Is there any method of cleaning up these canvas accesories that won't damage the markings? Can they be soaked and hand washed in detergent? LIONHART
I wash those the same I wash my Filson Canvas Goods. Warm soapy water, and a stiff nylon brush. Don't scrub to hard though.
