Retired Road Dog
http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/RetiredRoadDog/Veterans%20Fair%20SMALL%20PHOTOS/VeteransFairemail.jpgPRESS RELEASE The 2nd Annual Veterans Fair is coming to Plymouth Meeting on Sunday, February 19th 2012 At the National Guard Armory 1046 Belvoir Road Plymouth Meeting PA 19462 This VETERANS’ FAIR will again be the largest indoor Military History Experience of its type.Vietnam Veterans have invited every Veterans Organization in the five county areas to participate. Over 1000 visitors came last year and raved about the displays and demonstrations. Living History Groups and exhibitors are coming from several states to fill the armory with actors representing World War Two, Korean War and Vietnam War era soldiers, complete with military vehicles, displays, period military equipment and wartime memorabilia. A special appearance is planned by "Wild Bill" Guarnere of the Band of Brothers fame along with his fellow troopers, survivors of Pearl Harbor and the Bataan Death March. The Family of WWII Medal of Honor Recipient Joseph R. Sarnoski, bombadier of the famous B-17 #666, will show his medal, artifacts and memorabilia. This may be a last opportunity to meet and hear first hand from heroes who experienced the greatest conflict in human history. Authentic "encampments" will be created featuring WWII medics, Infantry units and Vietnam command posts with historians ready to answer questions and demonstrate equipment. We even have authentic “Military Police” checking passes at the door. Period wartime music is featured as well as rare old vintage military vehicles from the Greater Pennsylvania Military Vehicle Historical Society. Plenty of hot food and drinks will be available. 18yr olds who joined the service after news of Pearl Harbor are now 90 year old !!! They may never again be able to see what is being shown at this event. It is several war museums brought to their doorstep. We are encouraging WWII, Korean War and Vietnam Vets to bring their grandchildren. Doors will open to the public Sunday, February 19th 10:00am to 5:00pm with a Memorial Ceremony planned for 1:00pm. A professional Film Crew will be making a documentary of the event as well as local TV stations and news reporters. Sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America – Valley Forge Chapter 349 whose motto is “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.” Donations will benefit the Montgomery County Veterans Honor Guard who perform tributes at veterans’ burials and other charitable causes in Montgomery County. Gio
It's good to see that these events still exist. All of use need to thank the ones that fought for our freedom so we still can enjoy our hobbies. God bless them all,Frank
