Two things maybe. Was this in the server browser that comes with the game? If so, it's kinda flaky. I recommend you download All Seeing Eye (http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html) and use that to find servers. It's better. You can build filters to only look for realism server too by putting in "PRM".

Secondly, if that doesn't work I was thinking that maybe you're behind a strange firewall. Have you connected to ANY server at all ever? If not, try this; hit the little tilde key and then type (without the quotes) "connect 68.100.26.245" and you should connect directly to my server. That will at least prove you can connect.

Also, for everyone there are some great forums at http://www.codadmin....php?name=Forums. First forum there is for general questions about connecting, etc. Go there and then you can search the boards and ask questions about problems you're having. Good resource and people are really helpful.

let me know what happens

Liberator I tried going to your IP and playing... it gave an error about downloading a 5custom/pk3file and that autodownloading was disabled on your server and that I needed to find the file elsewhere? Do you have this file posted somewhere? or fileplanet etc?

Thanks

You can ignore that error. Can you still connect if you get that error or does it just disconnect you? I may have to mess with my server since the new patch. Maybe this explains why no one has been playing there!

Ya know what? I'm just gonna make sure my server CAN download stuff to people whether they need it or not (this realism is server-side only) to avoid this problem and attract more players.

Give it a shot now.

Wait, I see in the logs you were on the server playing a little while. How did that happen?

I played on it for a while, but no one else was there. I got the download error and turned off automatic downloading and got right in.

Ping was a bit high at 250 by myself. I am of DSL that usually pings games like 50-100 max.

Yeah, that was my next suggestion. You can go to the multiplayer options screen and set automatic downloads to No and try again.

Yeah, used to play with guys from work Tuesday night but they slowly stopped showing up b/c of real life and kids, etc. My boss still shows up that Tuesdays around 9pm EST with me but he's out of town this coming Tuesday.

So, that leads us to a time. Should we all try to get in on my server tomorrow around 4pm EST? Bad time? Good time? What usually happens is that when a few people show up and hang around it attracts others. If we get there and not enough people show up I figure I can search around for a server that's busy and we can all move over there.

Hey, have you used All Seeing Eye and joined any multiplayer servers yet? If not you should to get some practice. Some of these guys are really good! Keep your head down and use cover or you're dead meat. Don't stray from your teammates until you get some experience or you'll get swarmed!
