I was high bidder on a sling that came off of a Thompson that was purchased in Canada. Instead of the normal sheetmetal ends, this one has more of a dog leash type of snap. Is this an actual Thompson sling?

They might know, it looks like Mills webbing, but not something I've seen before. Could be some European cast off as well.

The strap is from a rig for US field phone wire. I have that strap on my spool of wire and its dated from the 70's.

Thanks for all the replys...I will probably put it on one of my Ak's. I will keep the standard web sling on my Thompson. I don't have a field phone, but I do have a dog.
