Don't forget "American Thunder" by Frank Innamico, "The Thompson Submachinegun - Notes on Auto Ordnance" by James Bannan and Tracie Hill and "The Thompson Submachine Gun" by Roger Cox.

The Gun That Made the Twenties Roar by William J. Helmer. is a very good book for information about the History of the Thompson and how it came about.

The Thompson the American Legend and American Thunder not only cover the history but also the workings of the Thompson. I guess you could say these two are more technical then the first.

Either way you look at it, they are all great books.
